My Hairless Chinese Crested Dog and her Bear

It's raining in San Antonio, Texas

I know how Google+ can get more users...

So, I am sitting here pondering on how Google+ can get more users especially since Facebook seems to have taken over this social networking industry.  So here it is... Google seems to do a really good job with Google Adsense and the system is already in place to incorporate it within Google+.  Now they just need to link the accounts and have the users that use Google+ get paid for ads that are clicked on their profile/updates within the Google+ platform.  Many of us use social networking allot and I feel that many more would use it especially if you get paid to use it!!!!  Google, feel free to message me to gain more details on how to capitalize this social networking market.

BHRBO.com and VacationRentHouses.com have been taken offline

Sadly to say, vacation rental websites Beach House Rentals by Owner BHRBO.com and VacationRentHouses.com have been taken offline.  This was due to tough competition mainly from VRBO.com and Homeaway.com.  They have taken over the vacation rental industry.  I congratulate them on two wonderful websites and always suggest these to anyone I know in search of a vacation rental.

Not sure where my next business will take me but it may still remain in the vacation travel industry.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the websites by leaving a comment below.  I will have both website domains forwarded to this message.

Sincerely,
Rod Eubanks

What to do when you want to run but you know you shouldn't

I have only 7 running miles logged this week... and I feel so down..!  I tell you, if I am not running I feel sick.  I did a 40 mile bike ride last Saturday and felt really good and took Sunday off as a rest day.  Monday rolled around and I decided to go for a run.  I felt lead in my legs for some reason and just was not feeling the run.  I ended up doing 7 miles with one of my worst paces in a while 12:13...!  I joined this website about a month ago that I definitely like and it motivates me when I am not feeling the run.  It is http://DailyMile.com so check it out if you are an athlete and friend me at http://www.dailymile.com/people/rodeubanks if you decide to join.  I have a little pain in my left foot and it seems to be Plantar Fictitious so I have been resting this week because I know I need too based on the pain.  I will definitely up my miles soon so I can be happy again LOL 8)  So the question is "What to do when you want to run but you know you shouldn't???" ummm REST, RELAX, REHABILITATE, and get in on some R&R (Rest and Recuperation).... How will I do that you may ask... well tomorrow I am going to the 3rd largest BBQ competition at Sea World San Antonio only a walk away from my house.... http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/music/article/Get-your-smokers-stoked-2683868.php

Fell on my Trek road bike

Did not even start my 40 mile road trip before falling for the second time on this bike. Understand that my feet are locked into my pedals. So I am still getting use to them as you can see LOL 8)

Tornado 3 miles from my house this morning...

I was awakened at 4 AM this morning to the sound of howling winds and thunder.  I knew that there was a tornado watch in effect from last night so I was concerned.  Luckily we did not receive a direct hit from the tornado but 3 miles away it landed.  More details on the tornado can be found here January 25, 2012 – Tornado Surveys | Texas Storm Chasers and http://www.ksat.com/news/San-Antonio-hit-hard-by-heavy-storms-rain/-/478452/8498638/-/p00m3hz/-/index.html

The only damage I had was my heavy BBQ being blown over pictured here:

My hairless Chinese crested dog and a squirrel

This was soooo crazy. Check out the video below:

Real Chia Seeds

Just saw this post on Real Chia Seeds Facebook Page here https://www.facebook.com/pages/Real-Chia-Seeds/148698521858126 and had to share:

RealChia TRIVIA: The mucilaginous property of realChia allows digested carbohydrates to be absorbed from the stomach and into the bloodstream at a slow steady rate. Resulting in optimum energy levels for greater periods of time.

"The health pioneer Paul Bragg did an experiment during an endurance hike with friends. They divided up into a chia-eating group and another group, who ate whatever they wanted. The group eating only chia seeds finished the hike four hours, twenty seven minutes before the others, most of whom didn't even finish at all."

Ran in Barefoot Merrell Trail Gloves

What a beautiful day here in San Antonio, Texas in January for a barefoot run!  I ran 7 miles and it felt great.  Did some hill work and got my best pace down to 7 minutes for a short time.  Did not want to over exert myself as I had a little lower back pain from my 2 hour mountain bike ride on Saturday.  Great run, great day, and now time to relax 8)

Are you using Barefoot Shoes?

Just started running in barefoot shoes (Merrell Trail Gloves) and just got my best time after the 4th run 5.84 miles / 00:57 / 09:49 pace. Anyone else trying out the barefoot shoes?

Chia Seeds

I am reading a book by Christopher Mcdougall called "Born to Run". I have learned quite a bit from this book and also opened my eyes to barefoot running. Before running the San Antonio Rock & Roll Marathon last month, I ran into Brian with Altra shoes. He is an ultra runner and has some great shoeshttp://www.altrazerodrop.com online and in select stores. I mentioned the book and he stated that he had read it and lives for Chia seeds http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/content/en/dave_foreman/chia.jsp I then went to Vitamin Shoppe and bought 2 bags for a total of $15. I now use it in my oatmeal in the mornings and really do feel better throughout the day.
Do any of you use Chia seeds? I also heard of Chia Tea http://www.achivaenergy.com/Acvhiva_Energy_products.html do any of you use it?
Also, if you have the book Born to Run, you will have read about the Tarahumara corn beer... Wish they sold that in stores, anyone know how to get some?

Merrell Trail Gloves

Been running in the Merrell Trail Gloves for the last few weeks and still trying to figure out the best way to incorporate them in my workouts.  I have had some knee issues but not sure that I can point the pain to the Merrells.  I started out with minimal miles and try to wear them daily when I am out and about to help strengthen my muscles.  Will keep you posted with further info on these minimalist shoes.

Are you tying your shoes correctly?

I wasn't LOL http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-240-319--13001-0,00.html
